Fun and Interesting Events for your November/December Calendar

 

There are plenty of things happening in Old Town North that you may want to attend/participate in. So mark your calendar!

November 4: Artistic storm drain cover dedication in Montgomery Park, noon-3pm; art activities, DJ, light refreshments; FREE.  The creation of the storm drains was spearheaded by the Old Town North Alliance and carried out by Alexandria’s Office of the Arts

Ladrey Building proposed Pocket park: This 24’ x 33’ area will be on North Fairfax Street; adjacent to a 16’ x 40’ Art Wall that will recognize the Fairfax Street Art Corridor and the Arts and Cultural Walk plan.

  • November 9: NOTICe annual meeting at The Bike Club (99 Canal Center Plaza Suite 110), 7-9pm; features live music with Mars Rodeo; www.notice-alexandria.com\\

  • And the OTNCP’s Farmers Market operates throughout the month in Montgomery Park, with a special Holiday Market two days before Thanksgiving:

  • Thursdays: 3:00 - 6:30 pm November 2, 9, 16, 30 (closed November 23)

  • Sundays: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm November 5, 12, 19; to 3:00 pm beginning November 26

  • Tuesday, November 21 Holiday Market: 3:00 - 6:30 pm

  • November 15: deadline for retail and restaurants to apply for Green Business Recognition Program; for application instructions, visit https://www.alexandriava.gov/climate-action/green-business-recognition-program#HowtoApply

  • November 18: A Vintage Affair at Canal Center Plaza, 11am - 5pm; Shop 30+ vintage-inspired vendors while enjoying live jazz music and food trucks 

  • November 28: OTNA Annual Meeting at The Bike Club (99 Canal Center Plaza Suite 110), 6:30-8:30pm; refreshments will be served at 6:30, meeting begins at 7pm

  • December 2: Holiday Boat Parade of Lights viewing at Canal Center; events begin at 2pm., details to be announced
