Fall Events Slated for Old Town North

Favorite events are coming back, and new events are being created.  Join us for many of these exciting programs.

Taste of Old Town North: A neighborhood and city-wide favorite, this annual event held in Montgomery Park, 901 N. Royal Street, features booths and tastings from area restaurants, music, and fitness demonstrations.  This year’s event is planned for Thursday, September 15 in the afternoon. https://oldtownnorth.org/

Chalk Walk: This is a new event focused on Old Town North’s status as Alexandria’s Arts and Cultural District.  Artists will be stationed throughout the neighborhood on 10 by 10 spaces and will create new works of art in chalk.  Attendees will be invited to stroll by each site and admire the artists at work or the finished work.  There will also be a kid’s station in Montgomery Park.  Food and drink will be available for purchase at Canal Center on the plaza, and several artists will be in that location as well.

Farmers Market: The Old Town North Farmers Market takes place each Thursday from 3 to 7 pm, and each Sunday from 10 to 2 pm on the parking surface at Montgomery Park, 901 N. Royal Street.  The market features 8 to 10 vendors offering a variety of food and artisan products.  A compost station is available on Sundays.

Canal Center Happy Hour: on many Fridays beginning at 4 pm, the Canal Center office complex on the river offers happy hours with live and DJ music, beer and food trucks, children’s games, and more.  Enjoy the beautiful setting and have a lovely Friday!  Tuesday evenings are for Yoga on the Plaza.  On September 24, an Equinox Wellness Festival is planned.  Sign up for the mailing list at www.canalcenterevents.com.

Later in the fall, look for Dogtoberfest, Random Harvest, and Holiday caroling.

These events are brought to you by the Old Town North Alliance, the Old Town North Community Partnership, and building owners in Old Town North.
