“Chalk-A-Block” is this Sunday, September 29th from 11am-4pm!

Explore the Old Town North neighborhood this Sunday, September 29th, 2024 from 11am to 4pm. Observe chalk artists making their creations, enjoy live music from Mars Rodeo, Yellow Door Jazz, The Frontier, Maddie Cantrell, Alex Alavi, and Alejandro Villareal, and shop the works of local artists/makers!

Follow the Old Town North Tern’s chalk footprints throughout the neighborhood to visit all the sites and complete the scavenger hunt! (Pick up your scavenger hunt form at any location and turn it in at Made in ALX at 533 Montgomery St.).

The first 25 people to complete the scavenger hunt will win an Old Town North car magnet, there will be special prizes for kids, and one lucky winner from among all the completed scavenger hunt forms will win our grand prize: a gift certificate for dinner for two at Hotel AKA Alexandria’s a.lounge+bar (up to $100 value) generously donated by Hotel AKA Alexandria.

Don’t miss out on the chance to create your own art at “Chalk-A-Block”! Chalk artists will designate areas at most locations where kids can join in and make chalk art of their own.  Alexandria’s Mobile Art Lab 2.0 will be parked at First St. & N. Fairfax St. to help make rubbings of the artist-designed stormwater covers installed in Old Town North last fall.
