Burke & Herbert Share the Warmth Coat Drive

Old Town North Community Partnership will accept gently worn coats for the Share the Warmth coat drive organized by Burke & Herbert Bank in partnership with NBC4 and the Salvation Army. Coats may be dropped off in Montgomery Park at the Thursday and Sunday Farmers Markets (3pm-7pm on Thursdays through November 21st; 9am to 1pm on Sundays year-round) and at any Burke & Herbert location.

Volunteer Alexandria 10th Annual Toy Drive

Old Town North Community Partnership will collect new, unwrapped toys for babies and children up to age 10 at the Thursday and Sunday Farmers Markets in Montgomery Park (3pm-7pm on Thursdays through November 21st; 9am to 1pm on Sundays year-round).

Saturday November 2nd

Fall Hike at Raven Rocks with Old Town North Running

Join Old Town North Running for a fall hike at Raven Rocks.  Pack your own water and snacks! Follow Old Town North Running on instagram (@oldtownnorthrunning) to stay up to date on future events.

TIME:           9:00am

LOCATION: Meet at Montgomery Park Gazebo to carpool.

Election Day

Don’t miss the opportunity to cast your vote for President & Vice President, Senator, House of Representatives, Mayor, City Council, and School Board.

Master Distiller’s Series Charity Gala in Support of Operation Ride Home

Join Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller Chris Fletcher at MacMillan Spirit House for a Veteran’s Day gala in support of Jack Daniel’s Operation Ride Home (helping military personnel travel home for the holidays).

VIP Happy Hour Tasting including a Charity Auction with 100 percent of proceeds going to Jack Daniel’s Operation Ride Home.

Made in ALX Ribbon Cutting + Opening Night

Same great local artists and makers, new location. Made in ALX has moved from 533 Montgomery St. to 415 King St.  Please join them for their Ribbon Cutting + Opening Night celebration. There will be drinks and bites, a pop-up candle bar, and the chance to meet some of the artists.

Trail Clean-Up with Friends of the Mt. Vernon Trail

Volunteer with Friends of the Mt. Vernon Trail to remove highly invasive Kudzu on the Mt. Vernon Trail that is killing nearby trees and constantly growing over the trail. Follow Friends of Mt. Vernon Trail on instagram (@mountvernontrail) to keep up to date on other volunteer opportunities and events.

There’s still time to visit neighborhood favorites A La Lucia and Yunnan Potomac Noodle House.  The Montgomery Center restaurants have announced that they will be open through the end of 2024.
