Alexandria Winter Restaurant Week starts this Friday, January 31st and runs through Sunday, February 9th.  Take advantage of this opportunity to sample special prix-fixe menus at some of the best restaurants in Old Town North.

Royal Restaurant is offering a three-course dinner for $30 per person including your choice of a starter, a main course, and a dessert.  Start with burnt ends empanadas followed by blackened salmon or chorizo tacos and finish with coconut cheesecake.

ula’s on the Potomac is offering dinner for $40 per person including your choice of a first course, second course, and a dessert. Start with a cherry panzanella salad, followed by herb roasted cornish game hen or cherry blossom shoyu glazed halibut, and finish with molten chocolate cake. Jula’s is also offering special lunch and brunch menus for Restaurant Week. Lunch and brunch are $35 per person including your choice of a first course, second course, and dessert.

Hotel AKA’s a.lounge+bar is offering dinner for $50 per person including your choice of one starter, one main, and one dessert. Start with roasted squash and apple bisque, followed by grilled branzino or a flat iron steak, and finish with a miso apple cobbler.

 Visit a.lounge+bar at Hotel AKA and Jula's on the Potomac between now and February 10th to sample their entries in the 2025 Cherry Challenge. Each restaurant creates its own beverage, appetizer, entree, and/or dessert featuring cherries in honor of George Washington and you get to vote for your favorite.  Hotel AKA’s a.lounge+bar is offering a Lime & Lux cocktail featuring gin, Luxardo cherry liqueur, Luxardo syrup, and a cherry lime foam. Jula’s is offering a cherry item in every category including a Southern Gentleman cocktail featuring bourbon, chocolate and cherry bitters, and Luxardo cherry liqueur (check the Restaurant Week menus above to preview Jula’s cherry-inspired dishes/drinks)! Diners will be provided QR codes so that they can rate each dish and a winning dish will be selected in each category.

The Art League Patrons’ Show Fundraiser

Tickets are still available for The Art League’s biggest fundraiser of the year!

The Patrons’ Show will take place online this year, but visit the Art League Gallery at The Torpedo Factory Art Center (105 N. Union St.) starting this Thursday, January 30th to view the artwork that has been donated for the event.  The show will be open through the first two weeks of February.

Purchase a ticket and be guaranteed to go home with a work of art! The event features 600+ works of art donated by Art League and Torpedo Factory artists. Visit an exhibit of the art in the first two weeks of February and create a list of up to 70 favorites on the Art Thief app and pre-submit the list.  When your turn to select comes up, you will get the highest ranked choice on your list that is still available.
