The City of Alexandria recently announced the recipients of their 2024 Alexandria Beautification Awards and Old Town North’s Canal Center was one of three award recipients in the Community category.  The Community category seeks to honor groups that “go above and beyond to enhance the local environment.” Canal Center was recognized for its “fun, unique, and eye-catching statues and artwork” and for its commitment to hosting weekly community events that are free and open to the public. From Art Marts to community celebrations to art gallery shows to free Yoga on the Plaza (Tuesdays at 6pm all summer long), there is always something happening at Canal Center.
